Ending 2018 with a Bang!

These last two months have flown by and I feel I've been very busy each and every day. With a ton of Demonstration days at the Blackhawk Gallery in Danville, I've been able to share my process with a multitude of people. Many of which had never heard of Encaustic paintings. I set myself up on a table that had everything I needed to create small and medium works. Melting pots of pigmented beeswax and clear beeswax on one end, while the tools of the trade were here and there. Powder metallic powders, sharp tools to shave and gouge the wax, ink, brushes, my heat gun and a variety of items to paint on. Hours passed as I work on a number of pieces, some at the same time, rotating between them as they cooled. On another table I had an assortment of small Encaustic paintings I'd completed, unframed and offering them at REALLY really low prices. Someone scooped up 6 pieces in one day. Which made me happy and sad all at the same time. I am attached to my creations, but I know I have to let them go, to make room for more pieces. The thought that they are making other people happy helps me to realize that's what I am creating them for, to put smiles on other peoples faces. I create to lift the Spirit, and bring happiness into the world and into the homes of those who collect my work. Merry Christmas one and all and Happy New Year! 2019 is going to be AMAZING ~
